International Passenger Flights Stay Suspended Till This Date

New Delhi: International passenger flights in the country will remain suspended till February 28, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Wednesday.

“The competent authority has decided to extend the suspension of scheduled international commercial passenger services to/from India till 23.59 hrs IST of February 28, 2022,” the circular issued by the aviation regulator said.

This restriction will not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the DGCA. Fights under air bubble arrangement will not be affected, it added.

India had suspended flights to international destinations on March 23, 2020, following a surge in COVID cases. Special passenger flights to approximately 40 countries began in July 2020 under an air bubble arrangement.
