Swimming Pool Over 3-Storey Building, Check ‘Crorepati’ Odisha Constable’s Disproportionate Assets
Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday unearthed assets worth Rs 1.27 crore during house search of constable Nihar Ranjan Dandapat, who is posted at Mayurbhanj SP’s office.
The raids were conducted at seven places by seven teams ed by 9 DSPs, 5 Inspectors, 1 SI, 5 ASIs and other staff, following an allegation that he had amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
1) Triple-storey building at Bhanjapur, Baripada Town
2) Government quarter at Police line, Baripada
3) Premises of cyber outlook at Baripada Town
4) House at native village Belpal, Badasahi, Baripada
5) House of relative at Chhend colony, Rourkela,
6) Hota Enterprises at Purna Chandrapur, Baripada Town
7) Hota Enterprises at Murgabadi, Baripada Town
Besides the triple-storeyed building at Bhanjapur, the team unearthed two plots, including one at Bhanjapur and another at Belpal, Badasahi, Baripada, two four-wheelers (1 Volkswagen and 1 Duster), 3 three-wheelers, 4 two-wheelers, stock of computer accessories at Cyber Outlook over Rs 13 lakh, gold and silver ornaments worth over Rs 10 lakh, bank and insurance deposits and other movable and immovable properties all totalling to over Rs 1.27 crore, a vigilance release said.
The team also found a swimming pool on his 3-storey building at Bhanjpur, Baripada.
Further searches are continuing.
