Hyderabad: After reports of her involvement in the Rs 2.4-crore cryptocurrency scam surfaced, actress Tamannaah Bhatia rubbished those as ‘fake and misleading.’
Some reports claimed that she had been summoned by Puducherry Police in connection with a cryptocurrency scam.
“It has come to my attention that rumours are being circulated alleging my involvement and dealing with cryptocurrency. I’d like to request my friends in the media not to circulate any such fake, misleading, and false reports and rumours,” Tamannaah told HT,
The actress further said she will be taking ‘appropriate action’ against those spreading fake news.
Not only Tamannaah, fellow-actress Kajal Aggarwal was also mentioned in reports as likely to be summoned by Puducherry Police for interrogation in connection with a cryptocurrency fraud case.
News portal 123Telugu reported that a Puducherry resident named Ashokan had lodged a complaint with local police alleging that a Coimbatore-based firm duped him and his friends of ₹2.4 crore by luring them to invest in a cryptocurrency scheme.
Ashokan further alleged that he was invited to the company’s launch event in 2022, where Tamannaah was a guest.
He was also invited for a subsequent function at Mahabaleshwar, where Kajal was a guest.
Tamannaah was last seen in the Netflix film ‘Sikandar Ka Mukaddar’ alongside Avinash Tiwary and Jimmy Shergill.
She currently has the horror thriller ‘Odela 2’ lined up. The actor plays a sadhvi in the film.
