The miscreants threatened the trader at knife point and snatched the cash bag from him. After the trader filed a complaint in this regard, the police started investigation. The trader had revealed to the police that one of the accused had a tattoo of a tiger’s face on his hands.

On checking the data of the criminals, the police identified the accused and apprehended him. On the basis of the information provided by him, the others were arrested, the sources said.

The arrested persons belong to Nayagarh and Khurda. Several criminal cases including murder are pending against them. They have been engaged in organised crime in Bhubaneswar and its nearby places.

Meanwhile, the Police Commissioner has appealed to the public to remain alert while carrying large amount of cash and inform the police control room beforehand so that precautionary measures can be taken for the safety of their lives and properties.
