Techie’s Death In Odisha Capital: Check What Sweta’s Boyfriend Told Police During Questioning

Bhubaneswar: Software engineer Sweta Utkal Kumari’s boyfriend Soumyajeet Mohapatra reportedly told the police that his disinterest in marriage had led to a spat between them.

According to media reports, he was asked as many as 17 questions. Soumyajeet told the police that an audio clip of a conversation between the couple that has gone viral was not a recent one.

Police have registered a case against Soumyajeet under IPC Section 306 (offence of abetment to suicide) on the basis of the complaint lodged by Sweta’s father.

In a video circulating on social media, Sweta’s mother blamed Soumyajeet for driving her daughter to death and urged the state government to ensure he gets the punishment he deserves.

Earlier, Sweta’s father told the media that Soumyajeet’s family had demanded Rs 30 lakh from him for their wedding.

Sweta’s brother has alleged Soumyajeet tortured her physically and mentally and had threatened to make their intimate pictures viral.
