Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has formed a technical committee to oversee the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Talking to the media on Wednesday, additional chief secretary, Health Department, Pradipta Mahapatra said the committee, comprising senior professors of seven medical college and hospitals, will visit all 30 districts of the state and supervise the treatment of patients in the COVID hospitals. It will also advice the doctors on the mode of treatment for quick recovery.
“The committee will also take stock of deaths due to novel coronavirus and submit a report. On the basis of the report, the state government will formulate a new action plan,” he pointed out.
Stating that the COVID fatality ratio in Odisha is much below the national average, Mahapatra said the Chief Minister has asked to further bring it down to save the precious lives of the people.
Mahapatra further said that the state has achieved a record 53,015 tests in the last 24 hours, which includes 5078 RT-PCR, 47,834 antigen and 113 TrueNat tests.
The daily COVID test in Odisha was 52,795 on August 15, 50,241 on August 16 and 50,525 on August 17.
