Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had a close shave on Sunday when he was nearly hit by a drone at the ‘Waqf Bachao, Samvidhan Bachao’ rally at the iconic Gandhi Maidan.
The former deputy chief minister and currently Leader of Opposition in Bihar, flanked by party leaders, was addressing the audience when a drone, deployed to cover the event, strayed from its path and veered towards him.
“Sabhi alag alag political party ke neta, sabhi social activist… (Leaders of different political parties, all social activists…),” Tejashwi was in mid-sentence when the drone appeared out of nowhere and brushed against the lectern decorated with flowers.
Taken by surprise, the 35-year-old Tejashwi ducked and briefly paused his speech.
Security personnel quickly secured the drone, ensuring no harm was caused.
Tejashwi, the younger son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, recovered his composure and resumed his speech even as someone close by said, “Jari rakho, jari rakho (continue, continue)”.
As another person tried to rush forward, Tejashwi was heard saying, “Hat jao hat jao (move away)”.
A video of the incident has gone viral on X:
ड्रोन एक बेहद सस्ती टेक्नोलॉजी है जिसका इस्तेमाल वीडियो शूटिंग के अलावा लॉजिस्टिक डिलीवरी में भी शुरू हो चुका है, लेकिन इसी ड्रोन को अपराधी जिस दिन विस्फोटक के साथ इस्तेमाल करने लगेंगे, टारगेट किलिंग के लिए यह सबसे सस्ता और घातक हथियार साबित होगा!

With Assembly elections in Bihar due in four months’ time, all parties are moving into poll mode.
RJD and Congress are going all out to dethrone the NDA government helmed by Nitish Kumar, who has made a name for himself as a turncoat by repeatedly switching loyalties from one alliance to the other.
There’s a new player this time, with the Prashant Kishor-founded Jan Suraaj party throwing its hat into the ring. Kishor has predicted that Nitish will not be the next CM, whichever party or alliance is voted to power.
