Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued two-day dense fog warning for one or two places in 11 districts of Odisha.
The national weather agency, in its morning bulletin, said that there will be dense fog in some areas of Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal districts on Wednesday and Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, Koraput, Nayagarh, Angul, Bhadrak and Jajpur districts on Thursday.
The day and night temperature in the state will gradually increase in the next 24 hours, from Wednesday, it added.
The night temperature recorded in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Tuesday was the lowest in Sonepur at 9 degree Celsius followed by Phulbani (9.3) and Angul (9.6) while it was around 15 degree Celsius at most parts of interior North, western and southern Odisha.
Barring coastal pockets like Puri, Gopalpur and Paradip, the day temperature was above 32 degree Celsius in the remaining districts with Malkangiri recording the maximum temperature of 35 degree Celsius followed by Paralakhemundi (34.5).
Besides, the mercury soared above 30 degree Celsius in the twin cities of Cuttack (31.8) and Bhubaneswar (32.2).
