Bhubaneswar: With the return of heatwave, most parts of Odisha are likely to experience hot and humid conditions for the next five days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday.
Maximum temperature is likely to rise by 2 -3°C during next three days as heatwave is set to further intensify in many parts of the state.
In its midday bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said that hot and humid conditions may prevail at one or two places of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati districts in next 24 hours. A yellow warning has been issued for these districts during the period.
On May 12-13, hot and humid conditions may prevail at one or two places of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts, where a yellow warning was issued.
On May 13-14, yellow warning of heatwave conditions was issued for Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Balangir, Boudh, Khurda, Cuttack,Kalahandi, and Balasore districts.
Similarly, hot and humid conditions may prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.
On May 14-15, Heatwave conditions may prevail at one or two places over the districts of of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Boudh, Khurda, Cuttack,Sonepur, Kalahandi, Balasore, Nayagarh,Bhadrak.
2) Hot and Humid Conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar. Yellow warning was issued for these districts.
On May 15-16, Heatwave conditions will prevail at one or two places over the districts of of Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Boudh, Khurda, Cuttack, Sonepur, Kalahandi, and Nayagarh.
2) Hot and Humid Conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts. Yellow warning was issued for all these districts.
The weather agency further said that maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to be equal and above 40°C in the isolated pockets of Bhubaneswar, Dhenkanal, Bargarh, Nuapada, Khurda, Rourkela, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Boudh, Paralekhimundi, Jajpur, Titlagarh, Balasore, Chandbali, Cuttack, Angul, Baripada, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Bhawanipatna, and Balangir.
