Bhubaneswar: A joint enforcement squad of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) demolished about 40 temporary sheds near Regional Transport Office (RTO) at Saheed Nagar here on Monday.
Apart from these temporary sheds, three vending shops near the office were also pulled down.
The demolition of these temporary sheds was carried out on the directive of the Commerce and Transport minister Padmanabha Behera to keep the brokers out of RTO premises.
This was followed by a directive of Transport Commissioner Sanjeeb Kumar Panda to all Regional Transport Officers to stop entry of brokers to their office premises and initiate action against them.
