Bhubaneswar/Tampa: The Quiet Becoming, the latest collection of poetry by Odisha-born poet, writer and translator Purabi Das, was released at a literary gathering held at the Oxford Palms Clubhouse, Tampa, Florida, USA.
The book was released on September 27 by Mridula Sinha, former Principal Secretary for Higher Education and Technical Education, Government of India, who is currently associated with public-policy and educational initiatives in the United States.

The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by distinguished veteran members of the Odia diaspora—Gitimoy Kar, Satya Das and Gangadhar Barik.
Around 50 people attended the literary evening, which also featured poetry readings in English, Odia and Hindi.
