Bhubaneswar: After the success of a milk ATM in Silk City, the Greater Ganjam Gajapati Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union and Tata Steel Ltd. have decided to install three more such ATMs to help reduce plastic pouch waste and make milk accessible to people in smaller quantities.
Following a world-wide drive of ‘bring-your-own-container’, the milk ATMs help reduce the use of one-time plastic pouches. Another benefit is people can buy milk in smaller quantities starting from Rs 5 instead of buying half a litre pouch.
The ATMs will come up at MKCG Hospital, Hinjilicut and Chhatrapur, according to media reports.
