Bhubaneswar: While Rajdhanis and Shatabdis are lying idle, a ‘Shramik’ Express from Kerala left Ernakulam on Friday with Odia migrants.
Now, two trains from Gujarat will reach Bhubaneswar and one more train from Kerala will reach Ganjam, bringing back stranded Odias in those two states during the lockdown .
All returnees will be quarantined in different camps for 14 days after they arrive.
The special trains will run end-to-end, barring technical stoppages if any. Hence, all of the 13 special trains will not be carrying passengers to Odisha even if they pass through the state.
Odisha government has approached the Union Home Ministry to permit an additional stoppage of the Kerala train at Jagannathpur in Ganjam district to unload passengers living close to Berhampur. The train is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar on Sunday around 7 am.
