Bhubaneswar: Train services in Odisha were briefly disrupted on Monday morning when three wagons of an empty goods train derailed at 8.43 ami in a railway yard near Cuttack railway station while heading towards Paradip.
The derailment is suspected to have occurred while changing tracks and since confined to the yard, minimally impacted passenger train operations. “The goods train derailed on Route No.8 (loop line) at Cuttack Yard. Main Line (Bhadrak-Cuttack-Visakhapatnam) remains clear and operational. Train movement towards Paradip is also not affected,” the East Coast Railway said.
Relief train with machines, material and manpower has already been mobilised and the loop line in the yard will be restored soon, it added.
