Bhubaneswar: The regional meteorological centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued thunderstorm warning for 11 districts of Odisha.
The alert has been sounded for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh and Sambalpur districts.
According to a bulletin issued in this regard, latest Doppler weather radar and imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and spells of rain are likely to occur over these districts by 6:30 pm today.
Earlier this morning, the weatherman had hinted at weakening southwest monsoon. However, the forecast indicated moderate to heavy rainfall in several parts of the state from July 29.
