Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm accompanied by rain, lightning and gusty surface wind is likely to hit at least 13 districts of Odisha on Wednesday night, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
The IMD issued an orange warning for some parts of Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul and Mayurbhanj districts. It predicted thunderstorm, lightning, rain and gusty surface wind with speed up to 50-60 kmph within next three hours.

The nowcast warning issued at 6 pm also sounded a yellow alert of for Sambalpur, Deogarh, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi districts during the period.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safe places to avoid lightning strike.
