TikTok Fame Faizal Siddiqui’s Account Suspended For ‘Glorifying’ Acid Attack
New Delhi: TikTok has suspended Faizal Siddiqui’s account for posting a video in which the creator was seen throwing a liquid on a girl’s face for cheating him.
The video posted a month ago sparked controversy on social media as the girl later appears with a disfigured face made through grotesque make-up suggesting acid attack.
In the video, Siddiqui said, “Tumhe usne chhorr diya jiske liye tumne mujhe chhorra tha (The guy you left me for, has left you)?” before throwing the liquid onto girl’s face.
“As per the policy, we do not allow content that risks safety of others, promotes physical harm or glorifies violence against women. The behaviour in question violates our guidelines and we have taken down content, suspended the account, and are working with law enforcement agencies as appropriate,” a TikTok spokesperson told News18.
Meanwhile, acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal also expressed concerns related to the video on Instagram. The National Commission for Women also took cognizance of the video.
Siddiqui had over 13 million followers on TikTok.
