Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) chose April Fool’s Day to mock Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘achhe din’ promises.
The Mamata Banerjee-headed party posted a meme of the ‘Slapgate’ scandal at Oscars 2022 — which took place four days ago — on its official Twitter handle to send across the message that it’s anything but ‘achhe din’ (good days) in India under the Narendra Modi-headed Central government.

Will Smith, who received the best lead actor (male) Oscar for his role in ‘King Richard’ during the ceremony on Monday morning (Indian time), stunned the worldwide audience when he walked up to the stage and punched presenter Chris Rock for making fun of his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s baldness.
The TMC and other Opposition parties have been very vocal against the Union government over rising fuel prices in the country.
TMC took out a rally in Kolkata demanding that “anti-people decisions” be rolled back immediately.
