Bhubanswar: The recently released Odia comedy film ‘Tokata Fasigala’ running successfully in theatres across Odisha has the audience in splits. The film which features Sabyasachi Mishra, Elina Samnatray, Lipsa Mishra and Papu Pom Pom in lead roles.
The story revolves around Papu who is swiftly juggling lies and fooling both his wives played by Lipsa and Priyanka. The problem begins when Sabyasachi falls in love with Papu’s sister played by Elina. Though Papu does not approve of the relationship initially, he gives when Sabyasachi threatens to spill the beans on him and reveal his secret of two-timing both his wives. However, trouble brews when Lipsa fixes up her brother Brownie’s (the role played by Linkan) marriage.
The laughter evoking dialogues have been written by Nirmal Nayak and they manage to connect the plots. Director Ramesh Rout has sequenced each plot with expertise.
In the climax, both the wives accept Papu. Elina acts effortlessly while the comic timing of Papu and Sabyasachi comes up to audience expectation. The songs ‘maya re baya’, ‘jaanu lo jaanu’ and the title song ‘tokata fasigala’ have caught on and are already popular.
Both in serious and comical scenes Lipsa was shining while Linkan’s looks added fun element to the story. The initial fight scene was a bit lengthy and number of songs could have been cut down instead adding plots.
