Tomato Prices Breach Rs 100-Mark In Odisha; Check Details

Bhubaneswar: After lemon, tomato prices have now hit the roof in Odisha.

In retail markets, tomato is selling at Rs 120 per kg while the price in wholesale markets is between Rs 80 and Rs 100 per kg.

This is a huge jump from last week, when tomato was selling at Rs 70 per kg. A fortnight ago, the price was Rs 25-30 per kg.

Traders said short supply from other states has pushed up prices.

The rising prices of tomato has brought more hardship to people, who are already grappling with high prices of several commodities like petrol, diesel and lemons.
