Management studies aren’t just popular, but well paying too all over the world. Plenty of opportunities await management students in the corporate sector, financial institutions, public and government sectors. More so, in present times when the government is promoting Make in India, the scope for growth, development and opportunities for management students increase manifold.

From teaching management skills to making them job-ready, B-schools turn students into professionals. While it is not mandatory that you acquire a management degree to be the best businessmen, banker, manager, or analyst, acquiring education will only add to the benefits. Here are some of the top B schools in the country that you should try for.

Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad

The first on the list is the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A). While all the IIMs maintain a good reputation, IIM A has been featured as the top-ranked B-school in the country more than once. The school was accorded the status of an Institute of National Importance by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in 2017.

Top companies like E&Y, Deloitte, Walmart, Accenture, JP Morgan Chase, Barclays, Morgan Stanley, Tolaram, among several others visit the campus during placements from December to February. The highest salary offered at the top IIMs — A, B, C has seen Rs 70 lakh to Rs 1 crore while International salary packages offered are Rs 60 lakh and above, according to Shiksha.com

Xavier School of Management (XLRI)

Xavier School of Management  (XLRI) is a private Catholic business school run by the Society of Jesus in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The selection process for XLRI consists of an online exam, named XAT, or GMAT followed by Personal Interview. XLRI has a great track record in terms of placements and also offers a number of different scholarships to students.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT)

This B-school was ranked 26 for MBA by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2020. One of the top business schools in Delhi, IIFT offers more than 15 courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. IIFT  conducts its own entrance test and admits students on their performance in the entrance test and personal interviews.

Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi (FMS)

If budget is your concern, do not worry. FMS Delhi has now increased its MBA course fee to Rs.48,000 per semester including all the components. The total MBA fee at FMS for all the four semesters, therefore, goes up to Rs. 1.92 lakhs while it is 5.05 Lakhs (1st Year Fees) at IIM Delhi.

The Faculty of Management Studies under the University of Delhi is one of the most popular and reliant choices for students. Ranked 22 for MBA by The Outlook for 2020, FMS offers fulltime MBA programme, executive MBA programmes, Management Development Programme (MDP) and a doctoral programme.

You shouldn’t be surprised to know that the highest salary of Rs 58.6 lakh was offered during the 2020 batch placements. The college has collaborations with several international institutions too.

S.P Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai (SP JIMR)

This private business school was ranked 8 for MBA by The Outlook this year. Located in Mumbai, (SPJIMR) is a part of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan however, it functions as an independent institute with entrepreneurial ability. The institution is well-equipped with modern amenities and offers great placement opportunities.

Companies like McKinsey & Company, Microsoft, Google, Airtel, Hindustan Unilever, Mahindra, Deloitte, Philips, Jindal Steel & Power, Reliance Industries Limited, Citibank, Amazon, American Express and Paytm often visit the campus during the placement season. Be sure to land yourself a job of more than 20 lakh per annum.

Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai (NMIMS) 

NMIMS is another premier business school in India that has a great reputation. Ranked 4th for private MBA by The Outlook for 2020 and 12th overall in the country. This business school engages in a lot of curricular and co-curricular activities to groom their business students.

The institute has 100 per cent placement record and big corporate houses like Cognizant, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, IBM and Microsoft hire students from here.
