Mumbai: Online retailers Myntra and Reliance’s Ajio have ceased selling Turkish apparel brands amid boycott calls stemming from Turkey‘s “support” for Pakistan in the wake of Operation Sindoor.
According to reports, Myntra has suspended all Turkish brands, including Trendyol, while Reliance removed brands like Koton and LC Waikiki from Ajio. Myntra began deprioritising the visibility of these brands when tensions between India and Pakistan escalated before Delhi accepted Islamabad’s plea to pause military actions under Operation Sindoor. However, the sale of these products has now been completely suspended, Inc42 reported, quoting industry sources.
“At Reliance, ‘Nation First’ is not just a belief—it is the guiding principle behind every decision. In solidarity with our fellow citizens, we are actively reassessing our offerings across platforms to ensure they reflect the values and sentiments of the country. We remain unwavering in our commitment to serving national interest above all else,” a Reliance spokesperson was quoted as saying by the media & information platform.
This followed traders’ lobby CAIT call for nationwide boycott of Turkish and Azerbaijani goods.
Notably, India has seen growing calls to boycott Turkey amid reports that it supplied more than 350 drones and deployed military operatives to support Pakistan during its four-day conflict earlier this month. Among the repercussions are trip cancellations, suspension of institutional partnerships, and the revocation of Celebi Aviation’s license.
