Sambalpur: Railway traffic was disrupted for a couple of hours after one of the carriage of a goods train, loaded with coal, caught fire on Tuesday morning at Bamara railway station.
No injury or casualty was reported in the incident.
According to sources, the goods train was heading towards Rourkela from Jharsuguda when the incident took place.
Receiving information about the mishap, two fire tenders were pressed into action. It took nearly two hours for the fire personnel to completely douse the fire. The reason of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
However, timely intervention helped to avert a major mishap, the officials added. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the blaze.
