Fans were overjoyed on hearing this news and they took to social media to express their excitement.
One fan wrote, “Welcome to RebelWood.”
Another commented, “This is huge.”
One person remarked, “Deepika out, Triptii in!!! Vanga trusts her too much.”
Another user wrote, “I’m screaming.”
As per reports, Deepika was dropped from the film for her unprofessional behaviour and unfair demands.
“Sandeep Reddy Vanga got the shock of his life when Deepika Padukone refused to shoot for more than six hours a day for Spirit. That’s not all—the actress, via her agency, also began to demand amendments to the contract. Their main contention was simple: if the shoot extended beyond 100 days, Deepika would need to be paid extra for every single day beyond the agreed schedule,” a source was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.
This is the second time that Vanga and Triptii will be collaborating for a project, having worked together in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer blockbuster ‘Animal’.
Bankrolled by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, ‘Spirit’ will feature Prabhas as the male lead.
The film, which is currently in pre-production stage, will go on floors soon.
