New Delhi: Amid the ongoing standoff between the government and Twitter, the micro blogging site has stirred a new controversy for carrying a wrong map of India that shows Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh outside the country.
The distorted map, which appears on the “Tweep Life” section of Twitter, was flagged by a twitterati and has generated many angry reactions.
Twitter may face action for carrying a wrong map of India, NDTV reported quoting government sources.
Twitter has been involved in several run ins with the government recently over a range of issues from the tagging of BJP leaders’ posts as “manipulated media”, temporary blocking of accounts of the Vice-President and a minister to new rules for social media sites.
Twitter had flagged “freedom of expression” concerns while responding to the new rules, which include appointing India-based compliance officers.
