New Delhi: Twitter’s recently-appointed interim resident grievance officer for India Dharmendra Chatur has stepped down.
The popular micro-blogging site is, thus, without a grievance official as mandated by new IT rules of Indian government to address complaints from Indian subscribers, PTI reported quoting a source.
The website of the company no longer displays Chatur’s name, as required under Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021.
Twitter has been engaged in a tussle with the Indian government over compliance of new social media rules.
