Bhubaneswar: The Health Department on Friday informed about the death of two COVID-19 patients in Odisha due to other health complications.
A 42-year-old man of Khurda district, who was suffering from chronic liver disease and Hepatitis B, had tested positive for COVID-19. “He has succumbed to his chronic ailments. As per the death audit report, the cause of death is decompensated liver disease with Hepatitis B,” the department tweeted
Another 72-year-old corona patient of Balasore district died due to chronic myelogenous lukemia. He was suffering from blood cancer and other chronic ailments, it added.
Odisha has so far seen seven COVID-19 deaths, three each from Ganjam and Khurda and one from Cuttack. The affected tally touched 1723 on Friday with 63 persons testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
