Berhampur: Two dreaded criminals were injured in an encounter with police at Berhampur in Ganjam district late on Sunday.
They were identified as Sauri Nayak and Mitu Pradhan.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided Kanheipur in Khalikote and nearby areas. Sensing trouble, the duo fired on police, who retaliated. Sauri sustained bullet injuries on both legs while Mitu was hit on his left leg. They were admitted to Khalikote hospital and later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, police sources said.
Police recovered two pistols, five bullets and a motorcycle from their possession. More than 18 criminal cases are pending against them at different police stations, the sources added.
