Two Educators From Odisha To Receive National Teachers’ Awards 2024

Bhubaneswar: Two teachers from Odisha are among the 50 to be conferred with the National Awards to Teachers 2024 in New Delhi on September 5, the birth anniversary of former president Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, also observed as Teacher’s Day.

President Droupadi Murmu will present the awards to the teachers at a ceremony scheduled to be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on September 5.

From Odisha, Dwiti Chandra Sahu and Santosh Kumar Kar have been selected to receive the award for their exemplary contributions to the teaching profession and enhancing the learning experience of students.

While Sahu is working at the Government High School Billesu in Rayagada, Kar is a teacher at Jaya Durga High School, Narla Road in Kalahandi district, official sources said.

Each award carries a certificate of merit, a cash award of Rs 50,000 and a silver medal.
The Union Education Ministry announced the list of awardees on Tuesday. Altogether 50 teachers will be awarded at the special ceremony.
