Bhubaneswar: A week after a broad daylight heist in which an armed dacoit looted cash worth Rs 10 lakh from the Bank of India (BoI)’s Barimunda branch in Mancheswar, a special squad of the Commissionerate Police made a breakthrough with the arrest of two dacoits on Sunday.
While the police have seized Rs 5 lakh cash from the two arrested dacoits, efforts are on to nab one of their associates involved in the case.
During interrogation, police have come to know that one of the two arrested dacoits is from a neighbouring state.
The Commissionerate Police will give the details of the dacoity in a press meet on Monday afternoon.
The incident had taken place on September 8, when a dacoit barged into the bank during the lunch hour and looted cash of Rs 10 lakh from the cash counter after threatening the bank staffers with two guns.
