Khurda: Two persons were allegedly injured in police lathicharge during a protest in front of Khurda collector’s office on Wednesday.
According to available information, some locals under the banner of Tangi Janajagaran Mahamenta staged a huge demonstration in front of the collector’s office to press for several demands and later barged into the premises and ransacked flower pots kept inside.
On being informed, police rushed to the spot and tried to disperse them. The situation took an ugly turn when the agitators clashed with the cops. Following which, they resorted to lathicharge in which two persons sustained injuries.
They were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
