Elaborating on their modus operandi, police said Mahuria along with his accomplices Firoz Nag, Imran Khan and Tulu Khosla plotted to extort money from businessman Pawan Agrawal last month. They collected his number from his employee Sachin Nayak. Later, Mahuria purchased five pre-activated sim cards from Borigumma and called Pawan demanding Rs 50 lakh. He threatening to kill his son Adarsh if he did not cough up the amount.
