Bhubaneswar: In a remarkable feat, two students from Odisha, Teenaa Rath and Alisha Biswal have secured a flawless 500 out of 500 marks in the CBSE Class 10 examinations, results for which were declared on Wednesday.

While Teenaa is a student from Mother’s Public School in Puri, Alisha studied in Kendriya Vidyalaya-I in Bhubaneswar. They have emerged as both the national and state topper, an achievement described as rare under the board’s evaluation system.

The daughter of IT professionals Sameer Kumar Rath and Renu Prabha Dash, Teenaa scored full marks (100) in five subjects and 99 in Mathematics Standard, qualifying for the perfect aggregate under the best-of-five rule. She aspires to become a heart surgeon and pursue medical education.

School founder Poly Pattnaik and principal expressed immense pride in her dedication, hard work, and the support from teachers and family.

Speaking to the media, Alisha said that she did not expect to score full marks in the exam. “I was expecting above 97 per cent. When my brother told me the score, it came as a pleasant surprise. I am very happy,” she said, attributing her success to hard work and consistence in preparation.

She also wants to purse medical education.

In his congratulatory message, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi saiid: “Today, when we are committed to giving topmost priority to ‘Nari Shakti’ and advancing them forward, this extraordinary success of the girls of Odisha is a matter of immense pride for us. This success proves that if given the opportunity, our girls can touch the sky. This is the true reflection of ‘Nari Shakti Bandhan’. I wish a bright future for both meritorious students along with all the successful candidates.”

This standout performance comes as the overall CBSE Class 10 pass percentage stood at 93.66 per cent nationally, with girls outperforming boys. In Odisha, over 96 per cent of students cleared the exams, with strong showings from the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, as well as Puri.

Top schools in Odisha delivered exceptional results, with several recording 100 per cent pass rates and numerous students scoring above 99 per cent.

At DPS Kalinga, Anwesha Mohanty topped the school with 99.8 per cent, followed by Akshara Rai at 99.4 per cent. Anupam Sahoo, Anurag Singh, and Janwi Behera each scored 99.2 per cent. Over 102 students achieved 90 per cent or higher, with many securing perfect 100 in subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Sanskrit, Hindi, Odia, and Information Technology.

DAV Chandrasekharpur celebrated a perfect 100 per cent pass rate, with joint school toppers Shreya Tripathy and Ruhan Mohanty scoring 99.8 per cent each. Satya Narayan Swain, Adhyasha Sarangi, Sashwat Purohit, Simran Pradhan, and Sreyansh Dash followed closely at 99.6 per cent.

BJEM School also achieved a 100 per cent pass rate. Kalpita Sabat led with 99.8 per cent, Koyal Routray scored 99.4 per cent, and Sagarika Priyadarsini Mishra, Sriyansh Pati, and Afeefa Tasnim each attained 99 per cent.

DAV Pokhariput’s Ayushi Dash secured 99.8 per cent as the school topper, with Anwesha Panda, Mrunal Raut, and Nikhilesh Prasad Rath at 99.4 per cent. Notably, 108 out of 180 students scored above 90 per cent.

DAV Kalinga Nagar recorded a 100 per cent success rate, led by Aahana Mohanty at 99.17 per cent and Prapti Parineeta at 99 per cent.

SAI International School saw Priyansu Pritis Dash score 99.6 per cent and Soham Mishra 99.4 per cent. All students passed with over 60 per cent, 24.2 per cent exceeded 95 per cent, and 46.1 per cent scored above 90 per cent. The school reported impressive subject-wise perfect scores: 32 in Mathematics, 21 in Science, 23 in Social Studies, and 5 in English.

At KiiT International School, Adweya Sarangi emerged as the topper with a score of 99.8 per cent while Swastika Mishra secured the second position with 99.4 percent. All the students scored first division marks, with 70 percent of the students securing over 90 percent. In the SEN Global category, Satwik Santosh Tripathy secured the highest marks with 95.4 percent, adding to the school’s overall achievement.

Times Scholar Gurukul (TSG) recorded 100% pass rate with Ayush Arpit Sahu emerging as the topper with an impressive 99%. Around 60% of the students scored above 90%. Founder Sharada Prasad Mishra and Chairperson Ranjita Mahapatra, along with all teachers and staff, extended their heartfelt congratulations to the students and their parents, and wished them a bright and successful future.
