Two Of Three Deaths In Cuttack Due To COVID-19; Toll In Odisha Rises To 17

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday informed about the death of three more COVID-19 patients while undergoing treatment in hospitals in the state.

The deceased were from Cuttack district.

Two among them succumbed to the virus, while the other died due to reasons other than COVID-19, the Heath Department sources said.

The COVID deaths include a 71-year-old man, who was also suffering from infected diabetic foot, diabetes and chronic kidney disease, and a 53-year-old man, who was also suffering from diabetes.

An 80-year-old COVID positive patient of Cuttack with sepsis and multi-organ dysfunction syndrome passed away due to intestinal obstruction, the sources added.

With these two cases, the death toll in Odisha has gone up to 17.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 tally in Odisha touched 5470 on Tuesday with 167 persons testing positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. With 3863 patients having been cured of the infection, the state now has 1583 active cases.
