Two Planetariums Reopen In Odisha To Enthusiastic Response From Visitors

Bhubaneswar: After remaining closed for 10 months due to COVID-19 pandemic, two planetariums in Odisha reopened on Tuesday to a huge response from the visitors.

Pathani Samanta Planetarium at Bhubaneswar and Dr Abdul Kalam Planetarium at Burla in Sambalpur district witnessed huge footfalls in the first few hours.

As many as 187 visitors were recorded in three shows at the Pathani Samanta Planetarium and 85 were reported for two shows at Dr Abdul Kalam Planetarium. All corona guidelines were adhered to while allowing the visitors into the planeterium.

The planetariums will remain open on all weekdays, except Monday.

According to sources, in the first phase, three shows will be showcased in Pathani Samanta Planetarium. Hindi ‘Rahasyamaya Biswa’ at 2 pm, English show ‘Secrets of Sun’ at 3.30 pm and Odia show ‘Akasa Ra Asaranti Katha’ at 5 pm.

The planetarium authority is sanitising the hall between every show, said sources.
