Puri: An undertrial prisoner was found hanging inside Puri district jail on Sunday.
Sheikh Akbar is from Saradhapur in Khurda district. Sources said some jail inmates found Akbar hanging from a wall hanger with a towel soon after lunch. They informed jail authorities who came with the Nimapada sub-divisional police officer and began investigations. Akbar had been arrested for an alleged illicit relationship with a minor girl.
