Unit I Daily Market In Bhubaneswar To Remain Closed For 4 Days
Bhubaneswar: The traders of the daily market at Unit I in Bhubaneswar will keep their shops closed for 4 days in support of their demands from Saturday.
The Rajdhani Daily Market Traders’ Association on Friday announced that all shop owners of the market have agreed to pull down their shutters as a mark of protest against the indifference of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) towards their demand.
“The Association has been demanding adequate space for parking of the vehicles of the consumers as well as the traders coming to the market for a long time. Due to lack of parking space, they are facing problems on daily basis. But the BMC has remained indifferent to our demand,” the Association stated in a release on Friday.
Besides, the traders have been demanding necessary drainage facilities to keep the market neat and clean. Moreover, lack of drainage system turns the area muddy in rainy season.
Their demands also include demolition of the temporary shops set up by the traders by encroaching the market space, alleged the association.
