India has provided the vaccine to 70-plus nations. Jamaica received its consignment of 50,000 doses earlier this week.
All-rounder Andre Russell, another popular West Indies cricketer from Jamaica, also thanked the PM for the vaccines. “I just want to say a big, big, big thank you to Prime Minister Modi and the India High Commission. The vaccines are here and we are excited. I would love to see the world going back to normal. Jamaica people really appreciate it and just to show that we are more than close, India and Jamaica are now brothers. I appreciate it and stay safe over there. Peace,” Russell says a video.
Both Gayle and Russell will be in India in a few weeks’ time to turn out for their respective teams Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming IPL.
