Unlock Odisha: Here’s What To Do If Someone In Your Workplace Shows COVID-19 Symptoms
Bhubaneswar: The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on Monday notified lockdown guidelines for the month of September.
The notification has laid down procedures for offices on how to deal with employees becoming infected with the coronavirus:
Anyone with flu-like illness should not attend office and immediately contact 104 helpline and also inform office authorities.
Any staff requesting home quarantine based on the containment zone activities in their residential areas should be permitted to work from home.
When one or a few persons who share a room or close office spaces are found to be having COVID-19 symptoms, those people are to be placed in an isolated room or area and should be given a mask or face cover.
Inform helpline immediately.
If one or two cases are reported, the areas accessed by the patient in the past 48 hours will be disinfected. There will be no need to close the entire workplace.
However, in cases of larger outbreaks, the entire buildings will have to be closed for 48 hours after thorough disinfection.
Apart from that, employees and employers are supposed to maintain the following rules in order to prevent infection:
Social distancing of six feet to be observed by all.
Face covers and masks are mandatory.
Frequent hand washing for at least 40-60 seconds and use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers for at least 20 seconds to be followed.
Respiratory etiquette such as covering mouth and nose while coughing and sneezing to be strictly followed.
Self-monitoring of symptoms and reporting at the earliest a must.
