Lucknow: A video went viral that showed an SUV ramming the sloganeering farmers marching in a line over the weekend in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. Eight people lost lives in the incident that included four farmers.
The video is yet to be verified by the police and it is not clear from the visuals who is in the driving seat.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi was first detained which was followed by arrest and wasn’t allowed to meet the families of farmers killed in Lakhimpur Kheri. She, however, tweeted a viral video clip that targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“@narendramodi Sir, your government has kept me in custody for the last 28 hours without any order and FIR. This person who crushed the annadata (farmers) has not been arrested yet. Why?” Priyanka Gandhi tweeted this morning.
.@narendramodi जी आपकी सरकार ने बग़ैर किसी ऑर्डर और FIR के मुझे पिछले 28 घंटे से हिरासत में रखा है।
