US-Based Teacher Makes Over 12,000 PPE Pieces At Home; Know How

New Delhi: While the world is passing through unprecedented changes amid the pandemic, a New Jersey-based teacher has won several people’s hearts and a brand new car for his efforts in making PPE kits for the frontline warriors.

A technology, engineering and design educator, Jason Erdreich decided to use his skills and resources to help those fighting the pandemic on the frontlines.

According to Hindustan Times, Erdreich turned his home into a PPE factory and made protective gear for many using 3D printers.

Erdreich’s story has been shared by Mazda USA on its official YouTube channel in the form of an over-three-minute-long clip. The recording begins with a voice-over by Erdreich’s wife, Cara, who nominated him as a ‘Mazda Hero’.

“He solves problems in and out of the classroom,” Cara said about Erdreich. Cara also threw light on her husband’s journey of making over 12,000 pieces of PPE and other cost-effective equipment using a team of people with 3D printers, in the video.

“Congrats Mr Erdreich! Your dedication to help others, selflessness, and hard work have always been unmatched”, One person wrote while many others commented.

Another individual also praised his effort and said, “Couldn’t be more deserving! There is nothing more amazing than inspiring young people to do great things – thank you for inspiring our kids every day”. “Watched it twice. Cried both times. What an amazing, selfless man who is so deserving.”

Erdreich said that he wanted to help those who are helping us in these trying times. “I had the resources to help, I was able to help, I couldn’t not help others that were doing so much to help us. Front line workers were, and are, doing so much to care for us, someone needs to make sure they are taken care of too. I’m glad I was able to contribute to that,” Erdreich was quoted as saying by CNN.
