Cuttack: Veteran photo journalist Hrudayanath Das passed away at his residence in Odisha’s Cuttack city following a prolonged illness. He was 96.
Das, who was suffering from age-related ailments for quite some time, breathed his last on Sunday at his residence in Sutahat in Cuttack, family sources said.

He was survived by four sons, all press photographers, three daughters. All family members, including his daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandsons and granddaughters were present at the time of his death.
Considered the first press photographer of Odisha, Das worked for many leading newspapers of Odisha. His photos have been published in many leading newspapers. He had a prolonged career as a photo journalist.
