New Delhi: On this Diwali, comedian Vir Das expressed his concern over the hazardous impact of bursting firecrackers to celebrate the festival of lights.
He further highlighted that when people are completely aware of the ill-effects of bursting crackers on the environment, then why do they continue to do so on Diwali every year.
“Whether pre-existing pollution is because of stubble burning, or aliens landing. To know something is already hazardous and then to deliberately make it worse for yourself and your family. It’s inexplicable. Young kids, old parents, their lungs won’t ask whose fault it is,” Vir posted.

However, Vir’s Diwali post didn’t sit well with some, and a troll suggested the comedian to stop driving his car in order to prevent pollution.
A troll commented, “Stop driving car immediatly. Dont pollute our environment deliberately.”
Known for his bold and outspoken nature, Vir gave back to the troll by posting, “A rocket is not comparable to transport…. unless you shove it up your a**, it’s a VERY large rocket, and your work is VERY close by. Also… please don’t actually try this at home.”
