Virat’s Diehard Odisha Fans, Find Out What They Can Do For Him

Cuttack: Among the multitude of fans in all parts of India, Virat Kohli has an ardent fan in Odisha, who saves money to see all the matches that the ace cricketer plays in India. So when he got news that Virat would come so close to home to play a one-day match at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on December 22, Nikash Kanhar of Kandhamal lost no time.

He reached Cuttack much ahead of the match on Wednesday itself and requested OCA authorities for a pass to see Virat in the match. “I will definitely see the match,” said Nikash.

The 35-year-old fan works as a private bus conductor. “I save money throughout the year to see the matches, in which Virat plays,” said Nikash. He has been to Kolkata, Ranchi, and Mohali etc.

Nikash can be seen with the Indian flag in his hand, donning a Virat Kohli jersey in the matches and writes Virat Kohali’s shirt number 18 on his jersey.

He crossed all the limits of ‘fandom’ once when he sold off his mother’s jewellery to finance his travel to Mohali in Punjab. “If I get a chance, I will take a selfie with Virat on December 22,” he said.

Another fan of Virat, Pintu Behera may also come to stadium to see the match. Pintu hails from Masiakhali village under Kukudakhandi tehsil in Ganjam district.

He has 14 tattoos on his body that highlight Kohli’s career like, Virat Kohli’s first name, his jersey number (18) as well as landmarks in his career including the 2008 Under-19 World Cup win, 2013 Arjuna Award and the 2017 Padma Shri.
