VSSUT Graduate Chinmayee Sahu Death: Viscera Report Confirms Alcohol In Blood
Burla: The viscera test report of VSSUT graduate Chinmayee Priyadarshini Sahu revealed that she had consumed alcohol before her demise, sources said on Tuesday.
“Ethyl alcohol was found in her blood. We have also seized a CCTV footage of Chinmayee and another person having liquor at a hotel,” said Sambalpur SP Battula Gangadhar.
The SP further said that the diatom report of the deceased had confirmed drowning as the cause of death. “It will take some more time to reach the conclusion. Further investigation is on to ascertain whether it was a case of suicide or abetment of suicide,” he said.
Chinmayee went missing after attending the convocation of the institute at Burla on February 28 and her body was found floating in the power channel of Hirakud Dam in Sambalpur the following morning.
With her family suspecting foul play, a case was registered under Sections 302, 201 and 34 of the IPC against Pritiman Dey of BJB Nagar in Bhubaneswar and Manas Tudu, a final year student of VSSUT.
