Bhubaneswar: Amid the prevailing dry weather conditions, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued warmer night and heatwave warning for Odisha.
According to the midday bulletin, the day temperature in the state is likely to rise by 2 -4°C during next 2 days. The night temperature may also witness a gradual rise by 2-3°C during the next 2-3 days.
By 2.30 pm, Chandbali was the hottest place in Odisha at 39.6°C followed by Bhubaneswar (39.4°C), Jharsuguda (39°C) and Balasore, Sambalpur and HIrakud at 38.5°C each. The day temperature is likely to soar past 40°C in twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar by April 4, the weather agency said.

Warm night conditions may prevail at one or two places in Kalahandi, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, and Malkangiri districts.
APRIL 3
Warm night conditions are also likely at one or two places in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Nayagarh and Malkangiri.
APRIL 4
Heatwave conditions may occur at one or two places in Jajpur, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, and Cuttack.
Warm nights are likely at one or two places in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Khurda, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur.
Light rain/thundershower may occur at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Koraput, and Rayagada.
APRIL 5
Heatwave conditions may occur at one or two places in Jajpur, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Cuttack.
Warm nights are likely at one or two places in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Khurda, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur.
Light rain/thundershower may also occur at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak districts.
While there are no more weather warning, light rain is likely to continue across Odisha during the next two days.
APRIL 6
Light rain/thundershower may occur at a few places in North Interior Odisha, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada and at one or two places in remaining districts of the state.
APRIL 7
Light rain/thundershower is likely at a few places in North Odisha, South Coastal Odisha and at one or two places in remaining districts of the state.
