New Delhi: It’s clearly visible on Google Maps. A giant ‘snake skeleton’ off the coast of France.

TikTok account @googlemapsfun recently shared a video of the ‘snake skeleton’.

The account said “it’s about 30 metres long and bigger than any snake caught before” and suggested the skeleton could be of the extinct Titanoboa, a family of giant snakes.

Well, is the ‘skeleton’ of a real snake?

According to Snopes, the ‘snake skeleton’ is actually a “large, metallic sculpture known as Le Serpent d’Ocean”.

The artwork is located on the west coast of France and is 425 feet long. Le Serpent d’Ocean was unveiled in 2012 and was created by Chinese-French artist Huang Yong Ping.
