[Watch] Huge Sinkhole Opens Up On Delhi Road Amid Heavy Rains

New Delhi: A huge crater appeared on a road in Rohini area here on Sunday evening as heavy rains continued to pound the national Capital.

The sinkhole opened up after the road caved in at the spot.

The 20-feet-wide crater was filled with muddy water. Luckily, no one was injured and no vehicle fell into it.

Barricades were put up around the huge crater and it resulted in traffic diversions.

Delhi recorded 153 mm of rainfall, the highest in a single day in 41 years.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that all schools will remain closed on Monday due to the incessant showers in the Capital over the last two days.

The combined impact of active monsoon trough and a western disturbance will bring in more rain in the next few days, IMD said.
