Tokyo: The cardboard beds at the Tokyo Olympics village are making news all over the world don’t seem to be ‘anti-sex’ after all! News was trending on social media that these beds are meant to be ‘anti-sex’ in nature as they might not be strong.
Irish gymnast Rhys Mcclenaghan has a unique take on the matter. In a funny video posted on Twitter, Mcclenaghan can be seen jumping on a bed with total might. He says in the video that the news about the Olympic beds being ‘anti-sex’ is ‘fake.
“The beds are meant to be anti-sex. They’re made out of cardboard, yes, but apparently, they’re meant to break with sudden movements. It’s fake — fake news,” said McClenaghan.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Monday reassured that the sustainable cardboard beds are sturdy for athletes. There were several reports claiming that the beds were deliberately made flimsy to avoid intimacy among athletes.
