Amritsar: A massive fire broke out at the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital here on Saturday afternoon. All patients were reported to have been evacuated safely, and no casualty has been reported yet.
Eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

Evacuated patients were seen lying on mattresses on the ground outside.
Fire officer Lovepreet Singh said an explosion in a transformer led to the blaze. “The fire is under control. No injuries reported,” he said.
State minister Harbhajan Singh was at the site, overseeing operations. He announced an investigation into the incident.
“The unfortunate incident of fire at Guru Nanak Hospital in Amritsar was reported. Firefighters are on high alert. No casualties were reported due to God’s grace. Minister Harbhajan Singh has reached the spot. I am constantly monitoring the relief work,” Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann tweeted.
